SYNBEE partners visit TU Delft
On 11 and 12 November 2024, the European Synthetic Cell Initiative hosted a visit of several fellow partners in the European consortium SYNBEE (Synthetic Biology Entrepreneurial Ecosystem) to Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. They had the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences and best practices on stimulating entrepreneurship in synthetic biology.

Networking and stimulating collaboration
SYNBEE is committed to unlocking the innovative potential of synthetic biology in Europe and wants to connect their partners to enhance collaboration. The delegation for this visit included representatives of Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) from Finland, Riga Technical University from Latvia and international start up network F6S.
Potential of startups
The visitors engaged in two afternoons of interactive presentations and discussions. An important focus was discovering the potential of startups, and incubator and accelarator programmes stimulating entrepreneurship. To this end, YES!Delft opened their doors to show an environment where tech startups with promising ideas grow into successful companies.
Three startups had a spot in the programme and presented their progress and experiences along the way in developing entrepreneurship. Next to the start ups, the participants crossed paths with several innovative organisations related to the TU: the Innovation and Impact Center, Delft Enterprises, and Biotech Booster.
Participants learned a lot from each other’s experiences and working methods. They see a lot of common ground to build further cooperation on in the future.
